Biopsy Completed…Cholangiogram Unable to be Performed…

Bethany came through her test well.  We will not have test results for several days.  The radiologist was unable to complete the cholangiogram (dye test).  He was unable to get the needle into one of her bile ducts.  This is not unusual.  We’ve performed this test three times now, and only once of the three times have we been able to actually get the needle into the bile duct.

What does this mean?  It means that we will not get all the conclusive evidence which we were hoping for regarding Bethany’s elevated liver enzymes.  This seems to be the story of Bethany’s life.  We often get conclusive/non-conclusive information.

The liver biopsy pathology report should be back in a few days.  Her doctor will call me later today and I’m sure we will discuss where we go from here.

In the meantime, please continue to pray for clarity in understanding, diagnoses, and treatment.  Please also pray for Bethany as she returns to school on Monday.  She has missed 3 days of school.

For now, one huge praise.  We get to go home!  Yeah!  Since the test are currently inconclusive, we have no further need to be here.  We had been told to expect to stay for the weekend.

Thank you for your prayers and concerns.  As we know more, I will update Bethany’s caringbridge page.

In His grace,
Taylor
